Tale of Bygone Years
The Tale of Time Years, also called the “Original Chronicle” or “Nestor’s Chronicle”) is the earliest of the ancient Russian chronicles of the beginning of the 12th century that have come down to the present day. Known from several editions and lists with minor deviations in the texts introduced by scribes. Was compiled in Kyiv.

In Tatishchev, it is worth paying attention first of all to the following fragments:
The first (6th chapter of the 2nd book), the period of the reign of Vladimir I Svyatoslavich, mention of the birth of Yaroslav, his father’s appointment to Novgorod and the beginning of the civil strife of 1015-1019.
The second section (7th chapter of the 2nd book) is a description of the reign of Svyatopolk I the Accursed, the main events of the civil strife of 10015-1019.
The third section (8th chapter of the 2nd book) is a detailed description of the reign of Yaroslav the Wise.

This clipping from the fundamental work of S. M. Solovyov “History of Russia from ancient times” contains a description of the reign of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, as well as related events. The fragment was cut from the 7th chapter of the 1st volume.
This clipping from N. M. Karamzin’s large-scale historical work “History of the Russian State” contains a detailed description of the reign of Prince Igor Rurikovich. The fragment consists of the following clippings: an excerpt from the 9th chapter of the 1st volume, with a brief message about Yaroslav’s rebellion against his father; 1st chapter of the 2nd volume, with a description of the reign of Svyatopolk and civil strife; 2nd chapter of the 2nd volume with a description of the reign of Yaroslav the Wise; 3rd chapter of the 2nd volume with a description of the articles of Pravda Yaroslav.
